Kendrick Lamar’s good kid, m.A.A.d city Goes Platinum

Back in June, Kendrick Lamar received his platinum plaque after good kid, m.A.A.d city shipped over a million copies worldwide. Now, the self-proclaimed “King of New York” has officially sold that amount. Seemingly thanks to the controversy he caused from his “Control” verse, K. Dot was able to move another 9k this week, making the total sales of his debut album at 1,003,000.

In related news, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ The Heist moved another 16k, raising the total sales to 998k. Just two thousand short of a million.

Although originally stating that he wouldn’t release his response he recorded to Kendrick’s “Control” verse, Joey apparently changed his mind. What transpires out of this is mad fucking bars. I think we can stop after this one now. Yeah, just stop.

From Blaze saying the battle-like responses are an “overreaction” to Guru guessing that sub-par NY emcees are gonna rush theirs out and El-P and Killer Mike simply saying it’s how it’s supposed to be (rappers going for each other’s necks when they rhyme).
